We armed local kids with stencils, spray chalk and video cameras, then they hit the street with scary facts about secondhand smoke. Coordinated buttons declare your personal space as a smoke-free zone and window decals protect people everywhere you stick one.

The Burlington Partnership continues to stencil streets, public spaces and businesses in the Queen City and hand out the personal empowerment materials, clearing the air one smoke-free zone at a time. The chalking must be fun and effective… BPHC has had multiple requests to share the campaign branding, messages and technique. We made a big impact with a sister campaign Breathe Easy Bailey/Howe on UVM’s campus, taking a stand at a busy library entrance that had been toxic with secondhand smoke for far too long despite an existing smoke free designation.
