Interpreting public engagement
Chittenden County, VT is working on a ground-breaking master plan that will merge more than 60 planning documents in one shared process. It’s a big task and public engagement is critical.
We provided graphic facilitation at a series of Ice Cream Socials, community meetings where residents voiced hopes and dreams. In addition to hyper-local issues we heard a lot of similar concerns in each town we visited. That common ground was reinforced when the public added to the drawings at booths during popular summer events.
We then used the raw materials to create a large-format Story Mural that shows hierarchy and interconnectedness of regional issues that residents care about. Project partner: The Grayson Group
